Good idea without enough content. Honestly, the actual gameplay is not as good as the graphics presented, especially for a veteran gamer of Paradox interactive like me. Cult of Madness has a good idea for “Start your cult domination”, I love the concept. But it needs more content, just generally more. As a strategy game, the lack of game content is fatal. Because strategy players demand more content than graphics ( This is the reason why there are so many DLCs for Paradox's games.). Otherwise, we get bored easily. That's the mistake Cult of Madness made. On the one hand, if he wanna attract general players, It’s not as simple and interesting as Plague Inc. On the other hand, his lack of content can easily make the game lose its playability.

It's really a mad idle game of cult. All you need to do is spreading cult to all regions in the game. My cultists have very strong wills and loyalty. Their faith let them use magic power make more people give up their soul. Although every cult has dirrerent skills, I could only use Preist at first. Other cults need huge amount of souls to unlock. The map is not big enough for me to explore. Most time I tap the screen to collect souls.

Cult of Madness is like a Lovecraftian Plague Inc. You follow Cthulhu, the classic mythical creature created by H. P. Lovecraft, to convert people into your cultist and expand your influence by unlocking more territories. Multiple Forces will get in your way, that's when you need Summons to help you grow. You can also build Temple to fight against other occupying Forces. I am attracted to the concept but the game itself seems too long for me, thus a lack of achievement when playing it. Not sure if this game has an actual ending (something like "the world has been taken over by your cult").

Feels like a smaller plague.inc, you move, taking, upgrade, and confront your opponents on the big map to expand your influence. It is quite creative to combine cult and Cthulhu culture with gameplay. You can upgrade your cult, expand it, and then take over the entire United States. (Hmmmm, why not the whole world) Since the pace of the game is slow, to move or send your believer will have a cooldown, so don't just look interesting, be patient.

The graphics look nice, the gameplay is a bit slow. But the reason I stopped playing is that my phone gets uncomfortably hot. The buttons have a bad hitbox, I miss the bubbles or just other upgrade buttons. It is annoying to press it several times.
