More Renaissance Kingdom Wars brings a fresh perspective to the grand strategy genre, combining it with a full-on real time approach, and daring to go where few strategy games have ventured before… Build your cities, wage your wars, serve your king, and experience siege combat with a degree of brutality never seen before. Renaissance Kingdom Wars brings evolving gameplay – with scope and player experience changing several times through the grand campaign. The year is 1510, the height of the Renaissance. You start the game as a simple mercenary captain in service to one of the hundreds of lords spread between dozens of Kingdoms across Europe, Africa and the Middle East. As you build your camp of followers and recruit new mercenaries you will eventually capture and claim one of over 500 cities or hamlets populating the game world. From there on you will take care of your economy, diplomatic relations, build up your city in real time or on the world map, aiming to expand your station and holdings in the game world – as a minor Lord. Eventually you will be ready to rebel against your monarch, and if successful be crowned King – which leads to the late game content – with focus switching from managing a town, to running a Kingdom, and eventually an Empire! Battles are truly epic - with several thousands units on all sides of battle. Bloody sieges, pitched field battles, and naval warfare unfolds with brutal historical realism and survival elements. When the battle is won, loot corpses or take apart towns to replenish your much needed resources. The Renaissance era was a revolutionary time in warfare, and the game presents it to the player in all its glory. Starting from mostly medieval warfare in the early game, with trebuchets, plated nights and the first crude gunpowder units. As the game progresses more and more gunpowder units and cannons become available, transforming the battlefield. You have the freedom to manage everything up-close and personal by entering towns in RTS mode. Construct buildings and walls, and position your troops. At the same time, you can also manage everything on the world map. As the game progresses the scope of the game constantly increases. In no time you will build your cities and hamlets, engage in trade, economy and diplomacy, and in this time of great conflict in Europe – partake in almost non-stop warfare – from epic sieges to naval combat and bloody field battles. The entirety of greater Europe and beyond is your playground – from the sultanates of North Africa to Byzantium, the Russian states and the Golden Horde, and all the Kingdoms of the Western and Central Europe. You can start the game as a mercenary captain, a minor noble with a small demesne or as a King ruling a great nation. There are three dozens of Kingdoms for you to choose from and over 500 towns and hamlets to start the game at, making each gameplay unique.
