Titus follows his Master and their foundling Order and descends into the Crater, an ugly scar gouged into the heart of the Old Empire. As an Apprentice Paladin, Titus is still learning the blade and deciding which of the deities should he dedicate his life and purpose to. When the Crater turns out to be far more dangerous than they expected, the new Order must band together if they want to leave the Crater alive.
The core of Frontier Paladin is the challenging and precise melee combat. While out in the Crater, Titus will complete quests for rewards and to further the narrative. After each successful quest, they return to their castle, where they can use quest rewards to upgrade their equipment, their allies, and their castle. The Crater is occupied by Warlords and their armies, who do not appreciate this intrusion; the Paladins' Castle will be attacked periodically. Titus must build and marshal their defenses against the attacking hordes. Successful defenses disrupt the siege on the castle long enough for Titus to go out questing again.
