Final Fantasy – Review Final Fantasy isn’t just a game series anymore — it’s basically one of the pillars of RPG history. Almost every entry feels like its own universe with different characters, worlds, music, and stories, but they all share that same emotional fantasy feeling that makes the franchise special. What makes Final Fantasy stand out is how cinematic everything feels. Even older games somehow managed to create huge emotional moments with simple graphics, while modern entries look almost unreal visually. Giant crystal kingdoms, futuristic cities, magical wars, summons the size of mountains — the series constantly mixes fantasy and sci-fi in a way very few games can. Storytelling is usually the heart of the experience. Many games in the series focus on themes like loss, destiny, identity, war, sacrifice, and friendship. Some stories become legendary because of how attached players get to the characters. People still talk about moments from older titles decades later. Combat changes constantly across the franchise. Older games used turn-based systems, while newer ones lean more into real-time action. Some fans miss the classic strategy style, while others love the faster cinematic combat. That constant reinvention is part of why the series never feels completely stuck in one era. Music might honestly be the strongest element overall. Tracks from Final Fantasy games are famous even outside gaming communities. Boss themes, emotional piano pieces, and orchestral battle music give many scenes unforgettable impact. Of course, not every game is perfect. Some entries become overly complicated, pacing can drag, and certain stories go completely insane near the ending. But even weaker titles usually still have incredible world-building or memorable characters. Overall, Final Fantasy feels less like one franchise and more like a collection of epic fantasy journeys connected by emotion, style, and imagination. Whether someone starts with classic pixel-era games or modern cinematic titles, the series has a way of making its worlds feel unforgettable.

I've been playing Final Fantasy XIV off and on since 2014 and it has consistently upped it's game with every new update and expansion to the point that by now - it's almost mind-bogglingly good. If you want to know, the reasons I ever take breaks from this game is because I'd otherwise get nothing else in my life done or accomplished. Now admittedly, the ARR storyline isn't the just stimulating of dramas at first. I remember I was basically skipping through most of the dialogue at first but mostly because of what I'd experienced with literally all MMORPG's up till that point in my life which is to say - that storylines are usually pretty awful and the plot only exists as a vehicle to get you from level 1 to to the max of level 60 (or it might have been 50 at the time, it's hard to remember). I'd played enough mmo's to know that the game didn't really start until your reached the endgame.

I grew up with Final Fantasy. I know all the parts, but this one, running like an errand boy from A to B, from B to C, from C to D, from D to E, etc., isn't my thing. Maybe it'll get better later, but I don't feel like waiting until I get there. I'm missing that certain something. That's not to say the game is bad, but playing errand boy and fighting at the same time, no, that's not my thing.

Tested the game. (Chinese version) because I understand the language, my conclusion is that it's purely a give-me-your-money game. Extremely expensive prices, starting at 196¥ (around 23 euros) and upwards, because you're supposed to or have to buy a lot. Gameplay: running from A to B, from B to C, etc., you do this nonstop. No voice output, just text, which I found a shame. Otherwise, I would wait and see, because the game has a lot of bugs. Overheating, crashes, etc. As of today, you can download an English and German text version, a little hard to find (should be findable with Google Translate), but what's also very interesting is why there's German? Both languages still have a few bugs, but you can play it.

I managed to play the last Chinese technical test and despite the language barrier, I can assure you that the game is sensational. My focus was to get to know the classes, but the game is beautiful, perfect, my feedback was, translate and launch globally because it is perfect. Another noteworthy information is about the optimization, I played on a Motorola Moto g84 and obviously, it is not a gaming or top-of-the-line device, and to my surprise the game ran smoothly, even for this model, I had no problems with that, the game is super optimized, infinitely better than Game of Thrones Kingsroad for example. I hope the game is released on the global market soon! It is worth the wait!
