The Isla-Guide—How to Power Up in Doula Continent: Soul Master Duel, Part 2

Sure, you can simply pick the game up and give it a whirl, but there’s an awful lot you’re going to have to learn if you actually want to be good at it. So much so, in fact, that it can feel pretty darn overwhelming when you first start to play.
Hence, that’s why I’ve put together this Doula Continent: Soul Master Duel Guide that will explain the essential items you’d require to toughen your team up in the game. If you’re new to DCSMD, it’s a great way to start to understand better, well, what you’ll be needing. If you’ve been playing DCSMD for a while now, this may give you an idea of what you are missing.
Find Your Green Thumb!
As you go through the game, you will find that the most frequently obtained items are flowers. Much like 魂環 (Soul Ring), soul masters will require flowers suitable for their vocations. When consumed, you’ll find that it will increase their power exponentially.The nice thing about these flowers is that you are able to gather them through 2 regular means (巅峰演武 (Pinnacle Sparring) and Battle Pass). Whereas if you are to join a Guild, you will then be able to unlock the following ways to acquire flowers.
⟣ 宗門藥園 (Medicinal Herb Garden)
⟣ Weekly Guild Contributions
The more active you are in the Guild, the better your rewards will be.
⟣ Guild Boss
⟣ Guild Storage
You will acquire this from the Guild Storage after participating in the Guild Battle.
Beast Soul Orbs Are Your Best Friends
One way or another, you will constantly be gathering Beast Soul Orbs as you go through each level. With Beast Soul Orbs on hand, you’ll be able to enhance your soul masters’ Soul Rings, which in turn will greatly increase your team’s power.
In any case, you’ll always find them by farming for soul rings in the 獵魂森林 (Soul Hunting Forest) or receiving them as rewards in Battle Pass and Pinnacle Sparring.
Bone Jadeite Are Your Second-Best Friends
The next best thing after beast souls is farming for 骨玉 (Bone Jadeite). Even if 魂骨 (Soul Bone) does not appear whenever you attempt to farm in 落日森林 (Sunset Forest) or 世界懸賞 (Worldly Bounty), Bone Jadeites will always be part of your loot. It’s another excellent way to strengthen your team with only having to spend some energy.
When in Doubt: Level up With EXP Books
Strengthening the team can be an extraordinarily time-intensive endeavour. Regardless of how you power up your team with items, it’s probably no substitute for levelling your soul masters up individually.
At the 學院試煉 (Academy Trial) interface, you can put the abilities of your team to the test against various instructors and their teams. Upon completing each level, you will be able to unlock rewards (EXP books) depending on the level.Otherwise, you can also do so at the individual soul master’s character page. Once you have met the specific requirements, you’ll be able to enhance the soul master’s level, increasing the team’s power simultaneously. So, do set some energy and time for them, as it is yet another easy place to gather up resources to strengthen your team.
Character Fragments are OP
You only require a certain amount of character fragments to increase the soul masters’ rarity and stats, significantly enhancing the team’s power.
Similarly, these character fragments are categorised based on their rarity—SSR (Gold), SR (Purple), and R (Blue) grade. So, each soul master will then consume character fragments of their corresponding grade. For instance, an SSR grade 柳二龍 (Liu Erlong) will utilise SSR grade character fragments in the 升星 (Star Upgrade) interface.Since DCSMD is a gacha game, you will always be able to acquire a soul master’s fragments by summoning them or 回憶 (recollecting their memories) in the 羁绊 (Bond) interface. Occasionally, you’ll find these general character fragments that you can use for whichever soul master of the same grade in chests with randomised loot. So, channel your inner hoarder and gather up those summoning tickets. You’ll definitely need them!
Always Stay Amicable with Your Soul Masters
As Michelle Obama once said, “Choose people who lift you up.” Likewise, DCSMD allows you to choose whichever soul master you’d like to flourish your fondness with.
As you progress in the game, you’ll earn items to level up your fondness with them in the Bond interface. At the same time, you will be able to increase the soul master’s stats and the team’s power.
In the Bond interface, certain soul masters are fitted together to create matches. For instance, 弗兰德 (Flender), 大师 (Grandmaster) and Liu Erlong are grouped to form the 黃金鐵三角 (Golden Iron Triangle). As you increase the fondness with them, their levels will then be summed, and the group level will increase each time the computed levels meet the specific requirements, which in turn enhances their stats and improves the team’s power.If you ever find yourself having a lack of resources to upgrade a soul master, you can always utilise the 魂力連結 (Link) function in the Bond interface, linking up that soul master with another of the same vocation. As such, they will share everything except soul rings and soul bones. Yet, in most cases, you can only have one of the linked soul masters in your team.After increasing the stars (rarity) of your soul masters with character fragments, not only does it increase the power, but it also increases the number of stars in 玄天功 (Mysterious Heaven Skill). What’s more, each time you summon a new SSR that you have never owned before allows you to obtain 3 stars. Once you meet the specified requirements, all your soul masters will receive stats and skills bonuses.
