A Rythm Game With A Heartbeat And Soul - DEEMO [QUICK REVIEW]
Translate
"A relaxing rhythm game with a soothing vibe and a touching story to unfold."
🎮 Gameplay: Classic rhythm gameplay. Tap and swipe to the beat across multiple songs. Each track comes with different difficulty levels for extra challenge. [7/10]
📖 Storyline: Unlike most rhythm games, Deemo includes a simple yet touching story told through 2D cutscenes after certain levels. It isn’t the main focus, but adds emotional weight on top of the music gameplay. The title screen is interactive and changes based on your story progress, making the journey feel more alive and immersive. Don't go in expecting a rich story driven game, the story is just an addition. [5.9/10]
🕹️ Controls: Tap and swipe, ez af [9.5/10]
🧩 Puzzle Design: The song selection is a mixed bag. Some tracks are catchy and memorable, while others feel a bit.... odd. Music taste is subjective, but from my perspective, the game offers a decent variety with both unique and quirky tracks that leave an impression. [7/10]
🎨 Graphics: Simple 2D visuals with a charming art style that blends a mysterious, dark vibe with a positive, joyful feel. Clean, clear, and effective without being flashy. [8.1/10]
👥 Multiplayer: Deemo has no multiplayer or online gameplay; the only online feature is the leaderboard. The absence of an online mode doesnt diminish the experience of the gameplay in any way tho. [7/10]
🛍️ In-game Purchases: Some chapters are locked behind a paywall, but these seem to only include extra songs. The main story appears fully playable for free. (Correct me if I'm wrong veterans) [9/10]
🎖️ Progression System: Completing songs unlocks new tracks, and advancing through levels opens up new story chapters. A system combining level and chapter progression. [7.5/10]
💖 Overall Experience: A solid rhythm game that also weaves in a meaningful story. It may disappoint if you expect a story-first experience, but if you enjoy rhythm games, or don’t mind rhythm gameplay and just want a heartfelt story, then this is definitely worth trying. [7.6/10]
