Free Fire Max Review—Just Another Visually Upgraded Battle Royale Mayhem From Garena

With a parachute strapped to my back, I leap out of the plane courageously before freefalling through the sky to my destination (I’d give anything to experience that 🪂 at least once in my life).
Around me, a couple of people have done the same, although they soon veer off to varying directions. Upon landing, I quickly scan my surroundings for any weapons and supplies (or rather, any enemies).
As I gear myself up for the precarious mission, it is merely a matter of time before I take everyone else out (or rather, that’s what I’d envision things to occur). Thanks to my perseverance and stealth, I managed to walk out of the match as the sole survivor. Well, as the saying goes, ‘Perseverance, secret of all triumphs.’
Despite knowing that I’m late to the party on this one (it’s better late than never, right?), I’d say that the updated iteration of Garena’s battle royale hit isn’t shabby at all. After clocking in hours into the game, there seems to be something about the smooth gameplay, enhanced road maps and quick matches that made it more appealing to me.
However, how each match would conclude is beyond anyone’s control. Wouldn’t that just keep you on your toes? So, deploy, scavenge, survive and win, rinse, repeat, ad nauseam—that’s pretty much the gist of Free Fire Max. Of course, you can always team up with your mates (like yours truly) in both casual and ranked modes, if that’s how you usually roll.
Apart from the difference in the map size, Free Fire Max takes on a differing approach from other battle royale games like PUBG and Apex Legends. The game tends to lean towards the more casual approach instead of militaristic getups and cosmetics. Wouldn’t you agree that it’s actually quite refreshing to see something apart from helmets and combat boots all the time?
After going through so many matches with my mates, do you know what I like about Free Fire Max? The duration of each match.
I’m not sure about you, but I sure love to play intensive matches in short bursts since they are less taxing on you. Unlike playing larger-scale games, like PUBG, I can rack up more kills in Free Fire Max. On the other hand, it may pose a risk as the chances of me dying is much higher since I will be encountering other players more frequently.
Brushing aside countless notices for bundles and events (that smack you right in the face after you log into the game), Free Fire Max tempts you into spending real money in an array of situations, such as limiting the duration you can use a seasonal weapon or even giving a paid character unique buffs.
Though the game does seem to be a rather expensive game to invest in, you can still have a mint time in Free Fire Max (Though it may seem a little demotivating since there’s the whole paywall).
In any case, Free Fire Max is great when you want to squeeze in a quick match during your break time (or work🤫). Joining someone else’s game was easy, and I was rendered stunned by how the enhancement Garena had included in the game. When it comes to mobile MOBA or Battle Royale games, my expectations are usually much lower. Nevertheless, I believe that Garena has everything all figured out.
