I've always wanted to play Fortnite mobile but never really got around to it. Had some free time during the holiday break to try out, and I found it amusing and entertaining. Compared to other battle royale games on mobile (pubg) I find myself preferring this over pubg mobile. First the battle pass season quests give this game story and actually makes it feel like you're a part of it by doing them. Second, I actually like the style of this game, this is a game that leans heavily into the bright color palette with its wide array of outfits and accessories, and all of this coordinates really well with the map. Third, the various other game modes available to play besides the typical ones (solo/squad) gives you multiple choice of what you want to play. Lastly the battle pass purchase. I do like that by completing challenges the entire season you get the vbucks back (by choosing them) making it a worthwhile purchase.
Downsides:
The thing that I find kind of off-putting is the aspect of fomo( fear of missing out) when it comes to in-app purchases. I get that this is implemented in the game to make you buy vbuck to get the cosmetics, but I personally don't like.
Bugs: Bug that makes you walk slow, bug that screws up gameplay after doing: fly with chicken challenge. I believe the turbo build bug hasn't been addressed yet.
Personalization: When it comes to personalizing your character you can get free stuff via the free pass like the harvesting tool, emotes, and back blings. However, there's no option for free outfits.
*** As of now you can get free outfits because of Christmas, but if you miss out then you'll be stuck with the default skin.
