So, I've finished all the main content, and honestly, I regret the time I spent on it—but let's take things step by step.
For the first time in a long while, the story gripped me so much that I didn't want to skip it right away. The dialogue, direction, cutscenes, and narrative are done excellently. It feels like a proper game, not just another gacha dumpster fire—though it wasn't without its 'buts,' more on that later.
What did disappoint me, though, was the combat. Don't get me wrong, it's flashy, but we've seen the same thing in a bunch of other gachas. Of course, it's hard to come up with something new, but the feeling that I've already seen this many times before just doesn't go away. On the other hand, the open world was a pleasant surprise. There's a lot to do, and you can literally go days without touching the main content, just playing side activities, and it doesn't get boring.
The second disappointment was the gacha system itself. It was described in glowing terms, but in the end, it's still the same old gacha pulls in a different form, and the principle remains the same: farm a lot—you'll get the character; farm a little—pay up. Nothing particularly interesting.
Now, let's move on to the problems. The first and most obvious one is the use of neural networks. There's way too much AI-generated slop, and personally, it's off-putting. The textures are sloppy and simply mirrored. It feels like either the developers just didn't care about the final result, or they were in a huge rush—and even that would only excuse the texture issues, not the AI. The world, while rich in activities, is dead. I don't feel any life in the environment. It feels like you're moving through a plastic city filled with identical mannequins.
I was waiting for a game with gacha, but instead I got a gacha with a game. Even so, it's hard to deny that this is the first of its kind, and despite all its flaws, it has its own charm and appeal. I will definitely keep playing NTE, but for how long—that's an open question. 55 GTAs out of 69.
P.S. I've created my own community on Reddit where anyone can post their reviews and freely express their opinions about any gacha game. A more detailed review of NTE has already been uploaded there.→https://www.reddit.com/r/gacha_review/s/cslF2pAeJW
