T3 Arena Guide #6: Chapter 4 Personal Development - Game Sense
Game sense is your ability to understand the state of the match and anticipate what happens next. It allows you to recognize threats, track important information, and predict your opponents before they make their move.
Good game sense helps you make better decisions before a fight even begins.
Awareness
Always keep track of what is happening around you. Know where your teammates are, which enemies are visible, and what is happening across the battlefield.
Information Gathering
Use everything available to you—vision, sound, the kill feed, pings, and enemy behavior—to build a clearer picture of the match.
Enemy Tracking
Keep track of enemies you can see and make educated guesses about those you can't. Knowing where an enemy is—or where they're likely to be—can prevent ambushes and create opportunities.
Ultimate Tracking
Pay attention to which ultimates have been used and which are likely available. This helps you prepare for upcoming fights and avoid being caught off guard.
Cooldown Tracking
Track important enemy abilities whenever possible. Once a key ability has been used, you can often punish the window before it returns.
Objective Awareness
Always understand the state of the objective. Know when to push, contest, defend, or give up space to prepare for the next opportunity.
Threat Assessment
Identify the greatest threat to you and your team at any given moment. Not every enemy is equally dangerous, and recognizing the difference can determine your next move.
Predicting Enemy Behavior
Look for patterns. Anticipate where enemies will rotate, who they will target, and how they are likely to respond to your team's actions.
Tempo
Understand the pace of the match. Recognize when your team should apply pressure, slow down, regroup, or wait for resources before taking the next fight.
