LifeAfter Review—No Idea What I Feel About This Ark-Esque Survival Game So Why Don't You Tell Me?

I, for one, am a die-hard fan of zombie apocalypse games (even films), and I kid you not, seeing how I am already so addicted to Dying Light 2. I mean, nothing beats not having to head to work and having free rein to kill off some of my least favourite people who have been zombified?
Yes, the zombie apocalypse addiction is real and can be highly destructive.
With an errand to run, I had no other choice but to tear myself away from my desktop, leaving me high and dry. As waves of restlessness washed over me during my commute, I did the next best thing that I could think of—becoming engrossed in a game that I had downloaded a while back.
All in all, NetEase will be leading a zombie resurgence on mobile with a post-apocalyptic survival MMO—LifeAfter.
The game pulls no punches right from the start, as you are immediately thrust into a tense gunfight against some alarmingly fast undead (Is it just me or does that look like a World War Z easter egg?). Before long, you will be fighting your way through to the helicopter ladder before you are brought to a safe haven—Happy 101.If you're like me, you'll be joining this post-virus-ravaged world as a revenant (a half-zombie survivor).
Cue a dreadful chase sequence in which you will be outrunning the infected long enough to encounter a fellow survivor who teaches you the basics. For some reason, this game plays much like Ark (minus all the dino, of course).
Together with your canine companion, you'll be spending most of your time exploring this open world. Be that as it may, you will still find yourself in a repetitive loop of gathering up resources to finetune everything, from your base to your weapons.
Safety at last? Not quite. You will be forced to defend your manor from zombie attacks whenever the darkness falls (If I can ensure I won't hit other buttons by accident).
What gripes me in this game is that the combat is a bit of a mixed bag. Sure, there may be an extensive arsenal of weapons to vanquish those pesky zombies, but on the whole, they all seem rather lifeless. Even if I am able to secure a headshot, I barely receive any reaction from them amid the glitches and lags I experience every other minute, much to my chagrin.
