LINE has made some great games in the past, so part of me wants to love this one without any real reason. Stage-based card battle games are a dime a dozen, so it all comes down to appearance and more minor details.
I was interested in how the story segments allow the selection of a prize. This supports aiming for the most in-game currency to obtain new characters or simply taking some gold if you already have your dream team. Most games just assume you always want new people and can often leave you with a great team that can't be upgraded.
The graphics are good, but what really stands out are the boss introductions. Countless games have done a short scene that focuses on the boss. Lots have a "CV" appear with or without an animation. The drawing effect on this one still manages to make it feel different.
Some of the mechanics are original and almost confusing, such as the infusion of an animal power. I wasn't able to tell what exactly this did at first, but it was better than having three skills that are launched over and over until an ultimate. This can get a little lost in having auto battle out of the box, but at least provides some neat animations.
Overall, this is probably closer to a 3.5 than a 4, but having LINE behind the game gives some reassurance that it will have an eventful future. If anything, it is the newest of its genre. That has to count for at least 0.5
