Developer Plagiarizing Pretty Derby Promises to Redesign UI
Several days ago, an education simulation game called Ping Pong released its teaser trailer. Chinese fans quickly realized that its UI looks almost identical to Pretty Derby. The developers’ plagiarism caused widespread criticism.
In a Q&A section for the promotional video, the developer said the game is about a novice athlete who gets training and cultivates relationships with coaches and friends.
In answer to the question: “Isn’t this Pretty Derby?” The developer stated, “Yes, but it looks more similar to another simulation game, Jikkyō Powerful Pro Yakyū.”

However, the developers of Ping Pong reacted to the many critical voices by taking down the teaser trailer.
In a letter, they apologized and admitted their plagiarism.
“We have stopped all our development and will redesign our UI, which will be installed into the game soon,” they said.
