On June 27th, LightSpeed Studios announced its first Unreal Engine 5 game, Code: To Jin Yong, at Tencent's Game Conference Spark 2022. Three days ago, LightSpeed Studios released the game's first trailer, and the warrior with a giant sword and half-mask in the video has drawn the attention of a large number of players and fans of martial arts novels. The character is very similar to Yang Guo, the protagonist from the writing of the famous martial arts novel author Jin Yong, and this certainly caused a lot of guessing and discussion; the video itself was even trending on Weibo the entire day.
As players suspected, at Spark 2022, LightSpeed Studios unveiled Code: To Jin Yong, an open-world martial arts mobile game developed with the Unreal 5 engine based on Jin Yong's novel series. The director of LightSpeed Studios said during the interview section of Spark 2022 that the game would be a huge world that contains all the characters, forces and stories of Jin Yong's martial arts novels and that the game's development team is arranging the stories in Jin Yong's novels into a timeline to rationalize the game's plot and ensure that players fully experience martial arts culture while making the game's plot logical and self-explanatory.

Studio staff also said that although this is the first time LightSpeed has used the Unreal 5 engine to develop an open-world mobile game, the team members have a great deal of experience working on the game and have done a lot of prep work for it. They believe they can turn Jin Yong's eight-million-word novel series into an exciting mobile RPG with an immersive martial arts culture and a rich storyline.
According to LightSpeed Studio, the new trailer for the game released in Spark 2022 focuses on the detailed environmental effects of Unreal Engine 5. The studio has been exploring how to bring out the powerful abilities of warriors in martial arts novels with new technology. They have found that the details of the scenes were more important than the special effects that were often seen in traditional mobile RPGs. We can see from the gameplay trailer that LightSpeed paid a lot of attention to the destruction of the scenery in battle, including buildings, plants and terrain. The detailed modeling in the Unreal Engine 5 can perfectly reflect the powerful but not supernatural martial arts moves from the novels.

At present, LightSpeed Studio has not yet announced the specific release date and release region of the game, though certain sources suggest that Tencent will publish Code: To Jin Yong in overseas regions in the near future.
