DEVBLOG 013 - Biweekly Progress
Recently we are doing an inner test among our moderators and content creators about researching the balance of our raiding gameplay. It’s a snap decision and most of the contents are still under development, so it’s not open in public. I believe you guys have already watched videos from content creators and have so many suggestions that you want to discuss. Feel free to comment here or on our discord sub channels!
PS: I read the comment and one player is asking if we could share more details about different resources in the community. Actually, we are upgrading the guide in the game and I hope it will be helpful for you guys. Also, we plan to create a Fandom Wiki page and will need you guys to help us to build the site together! For now, I will share some latest progress on Project EVO.
Core gameplay
1️⃣ We have shipped the new Ember mechanism. Embers will not just enhance the durability of your walls. Now your base has levels. By storing Embers in the chest, your base will gradually gain experience, and get higher levels. Higher levels will give you the following bonus:
  - Higher durability, more storage in Safe, more limits of foundations, floor and other structures, more claymore mine and turret.
2️⃣ We added fall damage while riding the horse. Make sure you don't fall while riding otherwise you will get hurt.
3️⃣ The kill count now goes to the player who takes the enemy down. If you kill a downed player who is not knocked out by you, you will not get the kill count. No worries about kill-stealing anymore.
4️⃣ We upgraded battle UI: from left to right are knocked down -> kill -> assist.
5️⃣ We added a boss in Port Tackson and hid it inside. The boss must be found through clues.
6️⃣ We optimized the NPC's attack logic. Now armed NPCs will run to you before attacking if they are too far away. Also, we changed Banshee's screaming attack, you can't stand on a dropbox to avoid the damage anymore.
Art
1️⃣ After we polished the tree texture, we started polishing the texture of the ground surface.
2️⃣ We polished different types of stones.
3️⃣ The sketch of the vending machine has been completed, and we will start to make concept art next.  If you have any suggestions, feel free to tell us.
Usability
1️⃣ We implemented Facebook SDK, players are able to find their FB friends on EVO and also invite their friends to game now.
2️⃣ We optimized players’ personal info UI and implemented looking for group system . Now you can find or form a team which fits your play-style.
While I’m writing this Dev Blog, our inner test is also going on and bad news comes that players encounter a lot of bugs. But the good news is that they are not in the Beta test and we still have time to fix them 🙂 Gotta go, see ya!
