Gun-toting waifus in the palm of your hand - Goddess of Victory: Nikke Quick Review

Translate
I’ll be honest. I’m not the biggest fan of gacha games. Something about rolling for characters and the aggressive monetization that sees you spending money without any real guarantees turns me off. That being said, Goddess of Victory: Nikke may be the game that changes my mind. Yes, this is still very much a gacha game, but it combines sci-fi, RPG, FPS, and waifu elements into one enticing bundle. There really is something for everyone here, all packaged in an immersive narrative experience.
THE STORY
After the Rapture invasion (mechanical enemies that are now the dominant species on Earth’s surface), humans were hunted and slaughtered without mercy. Decades later, a group of girls awakens in the Ark, mankind’s new home. They are the result of the collective technological knowledge of all the humans driven underground. They are code-named Nikke, a handle derived from the Greek goddess of victory, Nike. They are, after all, mankind’s last hope for victory. In Goddess of Victory: Nikke, you recruit and command Nikkes to form a unique combat squad.
PLATFORMS
Goddess of Victory: Nikke can be played on both Android (via Google Play) and iOS (via the App Store) devices.
TIME PLAYED
I sank in around four  hours of playtime into Goddess of Victory: Nikke. Just enough time to really get a handle on the combat, beautiful visuals, and gacha elements the game offers.
WHAT’S AWESOME
• Visuals. If you're into sexy anime ladies, then you’ll be quite impressed by the amount of eye candy the game offers. Each character looks great and has an interesting playstyle when combined with their unique weapon. When taking cutscenes and the voice acting into account, Goddess of Victory: Nikke sometimes feels like you're watching a full-on anime, a sensation that is only heightened by the dynamic battle effects.
• Combat. If the visuals alone aren’t enough to hook you in, the combat should be! Nikke’s third-person shooting rewards players who have good aim, but it also includes some minor auto assist if you’re terrible at this sort of thing. Each character has special moves known as “burst skills,” which kick the battle up a notch. And by adding more members to your squad, you can create greater diversity in the combat roles and in your strategic options. It was really fun alternating between machine guns, rocket launchers, and sniper rifles to take down a Blacksmith, the first boss I encountered.
WHAT SUCKS
• Monetization. A staple in gacha games, you’ll find expensive shop rates in Goddess of Victory: Nikke. For a special promotion, I was guaranteed 1 SSR Nikke if I purchased ten consecutive recruits. The price? Two thousand gems, or just around $30 bucks! All of the similar deals I stumbled across in the gem shop seemed way too pricey for what I would get out of them. Buyer beware!
SHOULD YOU PLAY IT?
Goddess of Victory: Nikke is definitely worth checking out. The combination of the visuals and those beautiful anime ladies and cutscenes is definitely enough to draw anyone’s attention. When combined with outstanding music, fully voiced characters, and an interesting combat system, it takes it to the next level. Just be careful with how you spend your hard-earned cash.
💬 How much would you be willing to spend on in-app purchases for a game? I start getting very hesitant after $10. Let me know in the comments, and don't forget to vote for your favorite anime waifu.

you wee-boos can have these type of games. I prefer to be my own character leading the waifus in battle not just in the background or on the sidelines give them commands I find these games boring.

4 hours and you're dropping a review? I had 10 hours two days ago and I'm still hesitant to review since there's quite a lot I haven't been able to try
