I would nominate two games. Honkai Impact 3. Despite a game that mainly shows girls fighting monsters, the story itself is a top notch filled with tragedy, complexity, and deep lore.

For Counter side, it is a simple game and certainly a very young game. However, the story plot is not bad either as multiple plots starting to come together through the views of different charcaters.
