Blizzard is in Development on Warcraft-inspired Mobile Games
During Activation Blizzard's latest conference call, Bobby Kotick, CEO of Activation Blizzard, revealed that much of their growth was driven by strong execution in premium content, in-game operations, expanding on mobile, and ramping new engagement models.
So did World of Warcraft, which saw strong engagement throughout 2020. And the release of the Shadowlands expansion made a major contribution to its fourth-quarter net bookings and players' engagement.
According to IGN, Blizzard has multiple free-to-play Warcraft-inspired mobile games In development. They quoted from Kotick:
“In our Warcraft franchise, we intend to deliver more frequent premium content to sustain and expand the World of Warcraft community...And we’ve made multiple, mobile, free-to-play Warcraft experiences and they’re now in advanced development based on our franchise’s beloved IP.”
