After playing for 4 hours, here is my honest review.
First of all, what I like from Metal Mind is that we can mix and match weapons, characters and the equiments in-game. This gives so much freedom to choose your preferred playstyle from getting up close to enemies while overheating to shooting from afar while decreasing your overheat to fire infinitely. I also like that you can buy all characters with Red Currency which you receive when completing the run and even if you failed to do so. But, since the game is new and is still in beta, if I remembered correctly, some things aren't polished enough. First, some of the translations are hard to really understand. Might just be because of localization and it can be improved upon release.
Second, the Auto Aim feature is sometimes a little bit off. Sometimes you need to stop firing before your aim can adjust to another enemy. Not really a problem but it'll be better if we can shoot continously without removing our finger from the fire button.
Third, when the game crashed for me, it didn't let me continue the game where I left it. I got no rewards and it was kinda annoying since I was already far on my run that time. I don't if its because I wasn't playing with my data on or the game didn't auto saved it. It'll be nice if we can return to our run even if we close the app.
Lastly, the game has no story whatsoever. I played many roguelike and roguelite games, most of them has some story of some sort just to get the players hooked for players who like stories more than gameplay.
These problems are more of like QoL adjustments and can just be fixed upon release. I see potential from the game. I hope the devs can improve this more.
