The Battle of NetEase's Eggy Party vs Tecnent's Party Stars heats up in China.

Translate
Eggy Party's UGC creator is accusing Tencent of plagiarizing piece by piece one of his original maps in competing game Party Stars. A lawsuit has been initiated against Tencent, and the case will be heard on May 15 by the Nanjing Intermediate People's Court in Jiangsu province. The Tencent operations team responsible for Party Stars responded to the accusation by removing the plagiarized map from the platform. Party Stars, developed by Tencent's Timi studio, was released in December 2023, competing directly with NetEase's Eggy Party, both part of a fierce and competitive race for the throne of the biggest party game in China, so far Eggy Party has taken the first place. To try to overtake its competitor, Tencent has invested heavily and moved teams to work on the game, including more than half of the Assassin's Creed Jade team was moved to work on Party Stars, thus causing the game's launch to be postponed until 2025.
