The only positive aspect that kept me playing Shadow Era is the graphics, which are beautiful and professional. Other than that...
Lets start with the engine: Everything in Shadow Era feels terribly dated and clunky. It is an old game, that was poorly coded, and is missing many features and the comfort that we are used to.
More meaningful, though, is the card-pool and the resulting decks. The balance is bad, and the deck-pool is small and annoying. On higher levels, you will be paired against the same broken decks continuously, against which a new player wont stand any chance. Especially, since SE is missing a crafting-mechanic, which leads to clear pay2win mechanics, as certain cards must be sold by players to be available on the ingame-market.
Needles to say, the strongest cards are always sold-out, and therefore are not available for free players, and locked behind a paywall. Personally, ive spent 70€, to get access to certain key-cards, but i still am missing too many of them, to be able to compete without disadvantages, and it really annoys me, how unbalanced and broken many cards and combos are.
In fact, i realized that my mood gets bad when i play Shadow Era, and therefore i decided to quit.
Which is not only the game's fault, but also the community's. The small player-base that remains, consists mainly of arrogant wannabe's, and the game's owner does nothing against it, even is he is presentbin chat. On the contrafy: Mr. Bjork is the type of guy, who rather laughs about bad behavior, than keeping his chat respectful.
I still kept playing for far too long, trying to justify my purchases, but ultimately, got tired and sick of it. Of it all...
Thumbs down.
