[Dev Blog #4] Torchlight: Infinite FAQ

XD here, the developers behind Torchlight: Infinite. First off, we would like to give a big thank you to everyone for your comments and feedback. We have noticed a lot of questions in the comments and we wanted to quickly share some of our answers here.
◆ Is Torchlight: Infinite a mobile game?
Torchlight: Infinite is a multiplatform game - while that includes mobile, it will not be exclusively on mobile. We were really inspired by multiplatform games where players can have the option to enjoy a high-quality version on a big platform while also experiencing a less hardware-intensive version of the game on the go. With that being said, our first upcoming closed beta will be for the mobile version of the game and we will have more beta tests in the future for the game on other platforms as well!
◆ Is Torchlight: Infinite the same as Torchlight 3?
No, Torchlight: Infinite is developed by a completely separate team from Torchlight 3. Our game has always been and will always be a traditional hack & slash ARPG game with a slightly more light-hearted tone when compared to many other games in this genre (which we love to play as well!). Our team has been a huge fan of the Torchlight universe ourselves, especially with T1, T2 and we wanted to make something that can live up to those wonderful games.
◆ Why Infinite?
Our goal is to create a continuously replayable Action RPG by including a lot of varying content like randomized magic find loot, expansive talent trees, different skill combinations, and lots and lots of playable heroes. You can almost say we wanted “infinite” replayability! With that being our motto for the game, it made sense for us to name it “infinite” as well. Just a little coincidental that a LOT of games this year had a similar idea.
◆ When will the game officially be released?
The game is still being developed and is currently in the closed beta stages. We are confident enough to show the core gameplay but we are still looking for YOUR feedback to further improve the game before its release. We don’t want to commit to any launch date right now and end up giving everyone an incomplete product.
Of course, this is all just words and we really encourage you all to try the game for yourselves and we really hope to hear your feedback on what you all would like to see! You can pre-register for the upcoming closed beta test here and follow us for further updates on the game.
