I hate this game! I hate that I can’t stop playing it. 5 years ago, when this god-forsaken was just launched, I spent countless hours creeping around that terrifying house, running away from Mr. Peterson, and finally confronting my ***SPOILERS*** childhood trauma ***SPOILERS***. Just two days ago, I saw this title as a mobile game and for some reason, I decided to put myself through this damn experience again.
This damn experience...
I still vaguely remember how to solve all the puzzles, I still kinda knew how to unlock the different doors, and I was already familiar with Mr. Peterson’s movements. However, none of that helped.
Those f***ing hands… THOsE HanDS!
To make things worse, I had to run away from Mr. Peterson by using a silly joystick on my mobile phone.
Seconds turned into minutes,
Minutes turned to hours
Hours turned to days.
Before I knew it, I had logged over 300 hours trying to beat this silly little mobile game that I already beat on my computer 5 years ago!
And dare I say, the experience was even better on mobile than it is on PC!
The stickier controls, the lower sensitivity, and the lower resolution all added to the creepy, insidious, and terrifying atmosphere of the game.
As I got more into the game, I even started sweating from my thumbs... and that made the controls even less sensitive and the situation even scarier... I think there's even a viral tiktok of my screaming out on the New York subways.
So yea, I hated this game and I couldn't stop playing it. But when I was able to finally conquer Nick's trauma, and outwit Mr. Peterson on the shi*ty little screen, the sense of accomplishment was even greater than it had ever felt do so on PC. And for that reason, I strongly recommend playing Hello Neighbor on your phone. Try it and maybe get your own viral tiktok for screaming out loud in public!
