This game is absolutely fun! Is this a genre pioneer or what?

I have never played a game like 1Bit Marcos. This game is extremely challenging for me. It took me a good few minutes to understand how it plays. The visuals are pixel-based but the audio and the gameplay are retro vibes. The in-game sound is missing or lacking thereof.

The game is simple, Marcos cannot jump, run or hide but he can shoot and cling to where your guide arrow will show you. The red things are a no-go. You cannot touch them or you have to return to the starting place.

My simple sorrows of the game are quite a few. To begin with, there are no checkpoints, no matter how far the level you go, you get hit by a red thingy, and you start again. The game is limited by the size of the phone display. There are times that I cannot see where I am going next cause my display screen is so small. Sometimes I use luck to clear the level. And if you fail the level a few times, I think the count is three, the whole map of the level changes, and you cannot prove yourself worthy of the level that beat you.

The game is amazing, similar to that bird that flaps, this one is more brain and fun and less color and sound. Overall, I can suggest this game to my nieces and nephews. I can also use this to decide how much they will get for Christmas. 1 level is $1, for example.
