Elderand: A Metroidvania with a Lovecraftian twist

Elderand is a Metroidvania action-adventure game developed by Mantra and Sinergia Games and published by Graffiti Games. It was released in February 2023 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Microsoft Windows, and Xbox Series X/S. Earlier this week, Elderand released on mobile adding a dark and atmospheric world inspired by Lovecraftian horror to mobile gamers hands. The player controls a mercenary who must explore the land and defeat a cult that is trying to summon an ancient evil.

The game features a variety of weapons and armor to collect, as well as a skill tree that allows you to customize your character's playstyle. Due to the game having support for a controller it feels way better on controller than it does with just normal play.

Adding to the fact of it being a metroidvania, The world of Elderand is dark and dangerous, but it's also full of secrets to discover. You'll need to explore every corner of the map to find the best weapons and armor, as well as hidden treasures. Like i said earlier, Elderand features stunning visuals that are sure to impress it really impressed me and the game's dark fantasy art style is perfectly suited for mobile as well.

Being a metroidvania, players can jump, dodge, attack and even cast magic which will definitely switch up how your playstyle is. The game offers plenty of bosses and beautiful locations to explore as well. I'm really impressed with Elderand so far, and with the gameplay being as challenging and addictive as it is, the art style is unique and atmospheric, and the game has a lot of promise to it as well. Elderand is available now on the App Store and Google Play.

Elderand is a good game, but it is not without its flaws. The game can be quite difficult at times, and the story is not particularly memorable. However, the game's stunning visuals, unique combat system, and lots of secrets to discover make it worth checking out for fans of Metroidvania games.
