相比其他三消遊戲，馬里奧醫生的策略性要更強一些，之前的三消會更加追求多連擊，造成爽快的感受。而它則是要想辦法消除整個場面的病毒，所以我們要注意膠囊的擺放，以及熟練引導遊戲內的道具，炸彈，烏龜殼等等。 膠囊的出現，則是按照俄羅斯方塊的方式，它不僅可以變形，還有另一半被消除後，會自動下落，所以對於位置的釋放，我們要考慮更多的情況。當然也會出現，放錯一個膠囊就讓我們出現整局崩盤的窘境。 除此之外，遊戲還有多人對戰模式，這就給了大手子們炫技的時間，不知道能否有俄羅斯方塊吃雞的火爆場景。

There is no more the 8-bit electronic music & SFX, which replaced by a clearer and rhythmical, but still addictive BGM, there it back, Dr.Mario. Compared to the very early Dr.Mario on FC, there are many different elements have been added. Capsules drop down from the top of screen has been changed to slide from the bottom to top. And about optimization now one capsule color is matched and the remaining one can continue to move.
