It has its promising 3D graphics and real-time gameplay. The game seems to draw inspiration from other popular mobile games like Clash Royale, incorporating similar mechanics and conventions. It is actually the reason why I tried it out! Expect to collect and deploy various leaders and minis from the Warcraft universe, each with their own unique abilities and strengths. Building a well-balanced deck of leaders and minis will be crucial for success in battles.

Brings me back to my Warcraft III days! I know, this style of game "Tower Offense" 😂 seems very simplistic, but I get a whimsical and fun vibe and I'm very excited to try it out. The minis and animations look charming and full of character! Though this genre tends to look simple, there is a lot of strategy in team building, resource utilization, emotional restraint, and proper tactical execution.

On top of this, there's a heavier reliance on tower defense gameplay, and you can even take over some towers to launch your combatants closer to your enemies, so there is some strategy to be found as you build and level up your team, though this is about as deep as the game gets. Well, development is moving quickly, so I've had a chance to test the recent beta over the last few days. So let's dig in and see how things are up now that brock-paper-scissors.

This one reminded me of Clash Royale, but instead of a focus on competitive multiplayer, Arclight Rumble is primarily centered around single-player content where you'll drop heroes on the field in a slow game of attrition that revolves around simple rock paper-scissors mechanics. One thing I noticed that the balance was way off, forcing unwanted grinding and the level-based gacha design is pretty dated at this point.

World of Warcraft has been immensely popular since its launch in 2004, but the roots of the series are in real-time strategy. Arclight Rumble is the first time the series is returning to that format since Warcraft 3. Fans aren’t happy about it being a mobile title, especially since it is the first for the Warcraft series. We’ve had companion apps that let the player progress their WoW garrison, and Hearthstone was ported over, but this is Blizzard’s first full dedicated mobile entry in the franchise.
