Alright, I'll admit. At first I was kinda rolling my eyes, because Match 3s have been done to death. But this has just enough here to make the tired old Match 3 system a little more fresh and robust. The demo only has the Muscely Warrior Panda available, and 4 levels with several stages of monster slaying and tile matching.
What sets this apart from most Match 3 games, even those in the same RPG vein, is this game's matching system. Every turn, you have Action Points which are spent by tapping a tile you want to move. This let's you tap multiple icons and move them all in the same turn. Muscle Panda has Two AP to begin with, so I can select two different icons and move them both. You can only move them in the same direction however, so be aware of what is going where. Another thing I like is that you're not strictly penalized for moving a piece that doesn't have a match. This lets you set up for longer strings that let you do more damage, heal yourself for more health, or even give you more expendable Action Points to use. That's everything for now. Start a new game?
