A Maze-ing runner is a singleplayer topdown speedrunning game. At it's core you traverse a set of mazes as fast as possible. However... How do you reach the next stage (maze)? Follow the three pillars mentioned in the Guidebook of a-maze-ing trails: Explore, Optimize, Run!
Where is the exit? Who cares? It is the journey that matters, not the destination. Explore all nooks and crannies of each maze to prepare for the next phase.

We are thinking of vanity items, a skill/perk progression system and mechanics that reward exploration and replay-ability of stages (inspired by the metroidvania genre). A question we often see in communities of singleplayer games we love is if they will have multiplayer. To be ahead of the curve, we are considering this, but it is not our main priority.
