Raziel: Dungeon Arena
Straight up, this is really good.
I mean it reminds me a lot of Diablo Immortal.
Diablo Immortal is the first ARPG that I've really fallen in love with on the mobile platform.
Now there's nothing to suggest that Raziel isn't every bit as potentially good. I mean graphically it's beautiful. The controls feel native and good under the thumbs.
Comparatively it's a lot less clunky than the UnDecember CBT that I took part in.
Class and character creation was limiting. 3 classes at launch. I chose Ranger. Shooting and skills feel good. All buttons exactly where they should be and react responsively. Cool downs were okay. I'm hoping for more skills as I progress. I absolutely abused one key skill which virtually had zero cool down, as such I was able to take out various champions and mini bosses with ease.
My experience is early game. Less than 1 hour. But I'm already enjoying it enough for multiple sessions. I'm going to keep it installed and keep playing it for a little while longer and I may come back to this review and change things up with some more depth and details on skills and how the PvE bad guys react to my awesomeness. lol.
To anyone who is currently not in a region to get the Diablo Immortal beta I would suggest that they get this, it's really really good.
Unfortunately I am only a one game kind of guy based on the genre of the game type I keep installed.
For example only play one FPS at a time (COD:M) and it's the same with ARPG's, so for me Diablo Immortal got there first. Evidently I'm heavily invested in Diablo and the game has a surprisingly amount of depth that's kept me so engaged. Raziel might turn into a sleeper hit, so for now it will stay installed while I discover what else it has to offer.
I'm quite comfortable giving it 4 stars, this being my endorsement for you to download it and try it as it's absolutely worth your time.
I intend to play it further and thus expand my thoughts and review these early impressions in the weeks ahead. Right now I had wanted to share my first impressions and to get the word out to people looking for something similar to Diablo that this game Raziel is a really good alternative while you wait for Diablo or Torchlight or Undecember or Path of Exile, all of which are coming very soon to the mobile platform.
