For fans of the 3DS game, this is great. Essentially the entire game was ported over and ... 'mobile-ized.' It has some dumb mobile quirks like a billion different types of currency, microtransactions, etc.. but ultimately you can play this entire game without spending a dime and enjoy the hell out of it.
Controls are simple enough and the entire game can basically be played with one finger. The portrait orientation takes a bit to get used to but after a few quests you won't even notice it. There is a TON of content here and the added village building mechanic is fun to toy around with.
Ultimately if you're looking for a fun grindy game to sink some time into, you really cannot go wrong with FLO. My only complaint would be that they did a poor job marketing it and not a ton of people know the game exists. So you may need to wait a few seconds to find a party for some of the online stuff.
