When I first played Warhammer: Odyssey, I couldn’t believe that it had less hype compared to some other games. Warhammer is known for its poor graphics and boring gameplay. But what I loved were the controls, overall mechanics, and the lack of autoplay.
Since there are a lot of games with autoplay nowadays, it feels like games are playing themselves instead of us playing the games. In other words, you have complete control over the gameplay.
Storyline
Score: 7/10
Coming with a rather engaging storyline, Odyssey follows various races like Men, Elves, Dwarves, where they work together to fight and win against threats like the Chaos Moon and Morrslieb. Overall, the game gave me a brief ride to my nostalgic past but nothing impressive.
And right after the first quest, a larger story begins. One tip that I’d like to give you is to read a lot in Warhammer since you’ll get most of your information about quests by just reading. However, if you’re a thrill lover like me, you can skip the reading part.
Gameplay

First thing’s first. I loved that Odyssey has the classic MMO features and systems. So far, the mechanism is simple. The gameplay goes like this; killing several opponents, completing missions, and collecting items.
There’s no autoplay, meaning that the combat is pretty cool as you can alternate between tapping and using your special abilities. The game also features a cooldown period where your abilities and health will reappear after you’re injured.
Moreover, dying will permanently damage your gear, meaning that even if you’re resurrected at the nearest point, your gear will be in the same state.
The blacksmiths throughout the game are pretty low in number so it’s a little hard when it comes to getting your gears fixed. But that’s what makes the game challenging.
The Drop Rate in Odyssey is also random. But on the other hand, Unlike a lot of other MMOs, Odyssey isn’t pay-to-win. You have to trade in real-time and it’ll work like a charm.
Even though the combat is a bit tricky, I feel like the game was a little too slow. The game has a slow setting than Warhammer Online which was on PC. That’s why the game is a little boring to play.
Graphics

When I first looked at Odyssey’s graphics, I was surely disappointed. We live in a world where mobile games are getting on par with PC graphics and Odyssey’s still here looking like a 2010 game. Due to mediocre graphics, it seemed like I was playing the older version of Warhammer.
The world of Warhammer is pretty vast. You can choose a total of six characters and all of them can be either male or female. The game also gives you customization options and adventuring in the old world is pretty fun some might say.
On the flip side, I’d say that the OG graphics make this game look like an old-school RPG, so it does have a bright side to it. The game can easily be compared to other titles like World of Warcraft or Warhammer Online.

• The game is not play-to-win and trading works like a charm
• The drop rate is random
• Odyssey brings back the classic MMORPG systems and experience for gaming lovers
Cons:
• Despite being a classic title, the game can get boring at times
• There’s a lot of mission repetition overall.
Conclusion
One of my most beloved things about this Warhammer: Odyssey is the controls as you’re not bound to autoplay. For my final thoughts, Warhammer: Odyssey isn’t the best MMO game out there due to its boring storyline and poor graphics.
