Tencent Leads Top Publisher Awards 2022 By data.ai
The tenth annual Top Publisher Awards by data.ai, formerly known as App Annie, celebrates the top mobile publishers worldwide. This year, Tencent ranks number one, leading a total of 52 publishers featured. The Awards’ metric is consumer spending worldwide over the past year.
Data.ai noted that Tencent’s success was in part driven by domestic demand for core games like Honor of Kings and the battle royale title PUBG Mobile.
NetEase ranks second, mainly driven by MMORPG Fantasy Westward Journey and Knives Out.
The two companies have retained the top two spots in the Awards for the fifth consecutive year.
Activision Blizzard climbed one rank and sat in third place because of its success in Candy Crush Saga, published under King. The publisher’s console-turned-mobile Call of Duty: Mobile was also a facilitator.
Playrix is in fourth place, and Google is in fifth. A full list shows that China-based ByteDance and miHoYo rank seventh and 14th, respectively. Besides this, Lilith, Fun-Plus, 37 Games, Alibaba Group and Baidu also made the list.
