After playing this game on JP since release I have to say I would wholeheartedly recommend this game to everyone. It has turned out to be one of my favorite gacha games that has been released recently.
In a nutshell, this game is epic seven with a better gear system and offline farming. There are a variety of similarities such as dog walking, bosses like wyvern 13 that you'll farm for gear, elemental system, exp penguins(robots here), and many more.
The differences come into play when it comes to the gear system. Each piece of gear has substats that are set from the beginning with no RNG so you don't level up a piece and find out that it's trash. Also, you're able to freely swap substats between gears of the same rarity using mats that are fairly easy to gather. So if you have an extremely good piece of one gear but not in the preferred set, just swap the stats over without having to level up a whole new piece.
Another difference would be the offline farming the game provides. With this feature, you set how much stamina you want to use, turn off the app, and come back to your loot be it gear, currency, xp, etc.. This makes farming for things extremely less tedious.
The game is also fairly F2P friendly where you don't need every unit to excel in the PvE/PvP since even 3* units outshine many of their higher rarity counterparts if put together in a good team comp. I'm not sure how much freebies will be given out in Global, but events provide a good amount of gacha currency as well as welfare units that are top tier.
So all in all, if you liked epic seven but HATED the gear RNG then this is the game for you. Also if you haven't played epic seven, give this one a try, you won't regret it. The music by Virtual Witch Project(V.W.P) is amazing and the animations for the ultimates and other skills have really good production value and are AWESOME. Also the live2D and skins for each unit are some of the best I've seen in a gacha game yet.
