I'm getting addicted to this game!
First, I really dig the artstyle of Nova Island. The visuals are so polished and all the character/monster animations look unique. From the first glance you can tell that the developers really put a lot of love into their work.
Nova Island is a fast paced hero-based card game where you place your characters/monsters on a board and try to charge them to boost your Nova. Now, once you get your Nova to level 20 you win the game! It's as simple as that and most of the gameplay is based on the mix of strategy and luck.
It's that simple and engaging gameplay in quick 2-3 minutes matches that kept me on the edge. Here I am playing my next round and it's already my subway station to get off. It's a perfect type of game to kill some time on a commute.
To me it seemed like the game gave off some strong Pokemon vibes. So if you are into becoming the next great Poke... ehm Nova Trainer then this could be something down your alley. As far as I know there is no Pokemon card game similiar to that anyways.
