A lackluster review for an interesting game

Good day my dear viewer, I am as always, your humble reviewer Delta, the Wolf. Today we will be taking a look at Battle for Wesnoth. I would like to clarify before we begin, this is not strictly a review for the PC version of Wesnoth, I shall to the best of my ability, review this in a way that is fair to both the PC version and the janky mobile version. So, let us begin, shall we?
Another note my dear viewer, this review shows four stars, but is heavily critical to the controls of the unofficial mobile; do not fret about this, this is just due to this review being open ended for both versions of the game as any computer should be able to run the version on steam. Now with all said and done, let us not tarry any longer.
Optimization.
As much as I want to waste both of our time's dear reviewer, there's not much to say here. Check if your phone can perform on its notes app at above thirty frames per millisecond and if your computer can open paint. I hate to use such bland language here, but it is what it is my dear viewer.
Graphics, and Art style.
Battle for Wesnoth is a game from 2003, it will not have the best graphics, more resembling American architecture than fine English architecture; however, do not fret, this is where this review will venture in a different path from my other reviews, for we shall be reviewing Battle for Wesnoth’s art. Art style is a biased setting if I am to be completely honest with you, but I would say in my humblest opinion the art is good, if not basic. Almost all the units in the base game have a portrait, which is impressive, however ones from factions such as loyalists have the issue of looking generic; however, this is mostly a non-issue as it is decent for fantasy, The sprites in the game are also well designed, though not as western looking as the images, which is an oddity, to say the least. However, we have tarried long enough on a segment that is more of a waste of our collective time, so let us move henceforth.
Controls. While the PC controls are substandard, everyone's cup of tea, early strategy game controls; the controls of the mobile version will remind you of the feeling of when someone tells you coffee is better than tea, if you do not agree with this metaphor my dear viewer, you aren’t of the calibre to read this anymore. I joke I joke, I do not mind such dirty mindsets here. Though I am sorry to say, unlike most games there is not much to say on this, aside from the mobile controls being worse than coffee. So let us carry on to the more interesting portions.
Gameplay.
I am biased toward this my humble viewer, this is the type of game I like, but I will be as critical as possible. The tutorial does not explain enough of the gameplay, it is a simple flow, you place your hero on a keep, and spawn units dependent on how many hexagons that keep holds; then like a true noble that you are, send them to die. No, no wait!  Don’t just recruit the units, we have another system to talk about my dear viewer, unit effectiveness. For you see, in this game the combat is based on an rng system, this system is affected by various aspects, we are looking at namely the attack type and resistance. Let us use an example here, a knight uses piercing, and a lot of armoured units have a twenty per cent weakness to piercing, so the knight will gain a plus twenty per cent damage increase against the armoured unit. Okay, so that was nearly a paragraph review of the attack system… Great, now do you want to know about the experience system? No? Well, my dear viewer, I hate to break character, but you see, I am not a polite wolf uwu. So let us talk about the experience system! Let us keep it simple unless you are using the loyalist faction or some deep-modded faction, it is not of much note; gain experience from fighting and killing units, that is all. Overall, I would personally say the gameplay is good, the game also still has an active community on PC for multiplayer.
LORE.
Okay, I am not going here, sorry my dear viewer I cannot do it justice. I would suggest checking the lore for yourself, it is very in-depth.

Additional notes
I would like to add this game is open source, so it has a lot of mods that add to its replay value. This review is one of my weakest, as I just cannot, do Wesnoth enough justice with my skill at reviewing, so I intentionally left the campaigns out of the review.
