I've been playing this game since the last 5-6 months or so and let me put it in the easiest way to understand. This game is the closest you can get a true Gundam game like the ones for PS like Gundam Versus and others on a mobile phone period. Gundam Battle Gunpla Warfare doesn't even come close. But this game is not for those F2P gamers as there's a weird but kinda fair Gacha system. Unless you have a S rank luck(FGO nightmares) you can barely get more than 5/6 of the native 3 🌟 suits. These aren't that premium but aren't that good too. Some are broken but the majority are a Ok. Then there's the premium suits which you can have not more than 1/2 and there's quite a lot of these. These suits are legit broken. But all these Ok and Broken suits come out at 3 🌟 and you have to upgrade them to 5 🌟 to use their full potential. Then there's the pilots which too have to be upgraded to 5 🌟. Matching suits with their pilots give you a suit specific Ex Burst skill which can be charged. If you're a patient hoarder then you might be able to get the premium suits but otherwise it's nigh impossible. There are 2 🌟 and 1 🌟 suits but they aren't that broken(there will always be exceptions).
Which brings me to the 2nd part i.e. this is a Pay 2 Win game. You buy in-game currency, packs, etc and you can consider yourself winning against the majority of player base. The game is skill based though with dash cancel, chaining combos and attacks to deal massive damage. So if you've got the skill and the money to go along with it, you'll be god in this game. The devs will generally release a few okay suit and then a broken one which will be premium. When playing multiplayer you will find whales who have every suit at 5 🌟 and they'll have god ping, do not be frustrated. Be patient. So gamers beware if you wanna play this game you got to either have patience and perseverance or money(something possibly we all need). The controls are a bit clunky and need to get used to but you'll be fine after a few days. Then there's the lag, you'll normally get 700+ ping if you play on 4G LTE and around 400-500 ping on a good WiFi. If you're willing to use 3rd party apps to improve ping then gameplay drastically improves with 200-450 ping on 4G LTE and 100-200 ping on WiFi.
At the end I would say if you're a massive Gundam fan you should play this game but be patient stock up on the in-game currency (Not crystals but the one with a giant F in it) and you might even get somewhere. Stay frosty
Update: Well, I've been playing for a year now and have got a couple of the regular Native 3🌟 MS at 4🌟 and have been able to get a few of the super premium MS. I still have yet to spend a single cent in this game. It's tough getting to the point I'm at since you have to invest a lot of hours as you can see by how much time I've played but that hours doesn't even show half of the time that I've played this game. And multiplayer Arena is cancer at higher ranks since all of the opponents you face are P2W massive whales with low ping. But with a little bit of skill and some luck and a good friend you can get there. One of the most important thing is to have friend who can play as good as you if not better, they don't need to be P2W. The F2P MS have been a bit nerfed but they're still OP. As I've said before you gotta be patient and avoid impulse spending. Keep that in mind and you'll be fine. Stay Frosty.
Update 2.0: I have given up on this game. When the free event suits are put behind an event gacha where you don't even get a guarantee that you'll get one copy of the "free" event MS, that tells you a lot about how the devs and the company treats it's player base. The devs did a minor update/"patch" on the rate-up gacha where they nerfed the whole thing and you don't even get a guarantee after 80 pulls and the rates are atrocious now. I've gone through with 120+ pulls without a golden box but I also got the golden box twice in 20 pulls. The 2nd one was my luck and the 1st one is the devs trying to milk money from the player base. I absolutely despise such devs and as such have given up on this game coz it's making me feel horrible. I just wanted to enjoy this game and perhaps be a bit competitive but now it has become a chore. When playing a game becomes a chore, that's the point you should stop and I for one have stopped playing. Stay Frosty.
Update 3.0: I'm back in game like the sucker I am but things have improved the OP units have been nerfed a lot, the trash units have been buffed and overall the playing field has been flattened out. P2Ws can still win easily coz Money but now F2Ps have a chance of winning against such P2W since the field is equal for both and only your skill matters. Devs have been giving out pretty generous rewards lately and a few of the outdated super expensive P2W parts of the game have been made accessible to F2Ps and as such there are more avenues for us to enjoy. Plan out your gacha spendings, watch the reviews of new units before you get them(they'll mostly be on bilibili) and never spend on an impulse (I did and I regret it till now). As always Stay Frosty
