Honestly the best lore based game is #DeadbyDaylight whether youlove or hate it, one cannot deny the fact that the game with every character from survivor to killer to the entiry and observer. They explain in detailhow each person /killer was taken by the entity and a full backstory for each individual in which the lore continues to grow. If just had ghost face and the shape, freddy ect people wouldn't understand why they were convinced by the entity to come to its realm. I mean even the generators and maps have lore to them activating the exit gates and/or hatch even has lore behind them!

honestly thinking of a game that even comes close to DBD and it's lore is practically impossible the ONLY game that I can think of is COD but the way it's story bounces from MW to Advanced MW back to vanguard and now present again doesn't even compete

a person said dead by daylight is dead... in your eyes maybe but they are on mobile with great mechanics not to mention the moris on mobile is a chef's kiss ... even if you do consider the game a dead game the way it constantly expands on a never ending lore is more than ANY other game has ever produced the entirety of the lore is basically a book I think if you include the knight now and all the lore behind everything it's more than 100pages that's more than any game I've ever played and I'm 37 so yeah long time gaming not even res evil or even doom go SO in depth with it's lore and #DBD is still growing and so does it's lore the game has done the BEST job in the 'LORE' category even if it does today seeing a game out play the lore of DBD will be nearly impossible it's like beating Stephen King at writing a horror book
