Punishing: Gray Raven
The story is about a post-apocalyptic world where technology is advance enough to transfer human consciousness to an advance robot, and they use this advancements to fight a virus who's goal is to wipe humanity.
The story telling is very detailed, in a way that makes you imagine a scene based on the words displayed. The characters are well developed as all of them have backgrounds, and all of it correlates to each other and to the whole lore. This game also makes stories for minor characters which the significance is lower than an npc to set the foundation and atmosphere of the lore, this way of storytelling really makes the story profound. Each of this minor stories aren't irrelevant as they further describe the universe this game takes place.
It might seem boring because of that, but once you go far enough to combine them piece by piece, this game's story is like novel. No... not "like", it's literally a novel if it weren't a game. It's not just a game which revolves around the main and side character then progresses to the goal. It's a game that tells stories of hundreds of characters to build the whole lore. This might threw you off but this is not the only way the story worms, this game still has a main story where the most relevant things happen.
Each character are properly built. From protagonists to antagonists, to their minnions, to side characters, to npcs, to minor characters, etc., everything is laid detailed and profound. It's also emotionally and physically intense. I love this game the most. I wish more could play this masterpiece.
