I believe this game should've never been priced over $40 for how linear and a shell of a game it is. It's just sad to see all the AAA industry going faster and faster in this direction. Purely for the money, no love behind this game because that how it felt for me. If you really want to try this game out for yourself, wait for  a sale or get a key that is under $30 or better $20. There's no world I can get isekai'd in where I'd change my mind, either.

It is kind of fun sometimes , but I strongly suggest you wait for a sale if you’re going to buy it.

The traversal and parkour looked fun, the magic/spell combat looked cool as well. I was a bit skeptical about the story and characters, I felt like they were trying to push an agenda over telling a compelling narrative. And it looks like I was right; other than the concept of the narrative, nothing else sticks. Square Enix has had more flops than hits with their recent titles, and their games are priced higher than other publishers'. Higher the price, higher the scrutiny. Doesn't help that their CEO wants to focus on live-service, mtx and NFTs.

Yes, it’s absolutely infuriating what that are doing and frankly I don’t think they are gonna get better anytime soon. They are so diluted from what the people are saying and won’t listen to the criticism, and they can get away with it since they have die-hard fans that will buy any of their games at any price even if that game hits a new low bar.

Just buy a PS vita and download Soul Sacrifice. Obviously an older title but far more interesting and decent storytelling.
