Dragon & Home: The Journey

Welcome fellow travelers to a new simplistic yet astounding experience known as Dragon and Home! This is a new game on the market which aims to bring a focused grinding and co-op adventure to PC and Mobile devices across the globe. Currently featuring mainly a test for signed-up players and assorted Canadian Google Play users, I can personally say that this game is worth the time aside from having its own issues right out of the gate.
While some people may not enjoy the entire sandbox experience that this title has as a selling point along the way, many will find out that it does have Boss Fights and Co-op Mechanics later on inside of the game. I can imagine that the general standpoint is that this will be seen as a Minecraft Copycat, but I am confidently able to say that this is NOT the case here.
Dragon and Home features an expansive World Map hosting over 7 different major locations to explore during the main story and side quests that players will complete along the way. Finding yourself starting your journey at the Post Station location, a fledged introduction of some Backstory and a Voice Acted scene followed by a Tutorial of sorts will take place upon beginning the game. It is definitely worth noting that many may quit during the early game when they notice firsthand what kind of grindfest title this will involve for all players involved.
A very positive upside when exploring is that the main villages/towns are very well-made according to the game's lore with a lot of room for improvements along the line. With that said, upon reaching Level 5 players will reach their very first village appropriately labeled by the same name in-game. Included as a Main Story stopping place along the way to help the villagers with the aftermath of a terrible event that takes place. This is a testament to the amount of places this game can improve upon to make a 10/10 game, but also welcome new players to entirely different surroundings than what they are used to.
Dragon and Home features some definitive RPG elements inside of the game, allowing players to do things such as view stats, put on costumes, and even view their User ID. This is a very important provided interface as it lets the player admire their characters and see any stats they would like to change for the future. While this does have certain things missing for me as a user personally, that is not to discredit the amount of hard work that went into this project as a whole.
It is very evident that upon seeing this screenshot that many players are going to be asking a prevailing question, How do we get costumes? While it may be a very obvious answer, it can be found out that the game features a paid cosmetics venue for anyone willing to shell out some of their personal money to look wildly amazing.
With Dragon and Home being a more pixelated type of game, it comes to no surprise that many players are going to want to build their own home in-game. This is where one of the major selling points comes into play in a pretty interesting way of allowing friends to create what is known as a Co-Home. If you have ever wanted to create a cool hideout or entire city with a team, then this is definitely the best way to manage and go about starting your more creative journey towards being the Chosen One. It is also very important to take note that the game does offers builders the ability to Fly, and while some people may be confused as to why that is important, dedicated builders will understand immediately that this means a lot of time won't be wasted having to pillar upwards to build in certain spots.
Overall, this is going to be one of the main time-wasters inside of the game and will see the likes of many overwhelming projects being collaborated on in the future. This is why I personally may end up building a respectable home of my own when the time comes, because who doesn't see the potential here right?
With all of these fun mechanics being introduced, there is also another very big one hiding in the back, Guilds. Yes, players will be able to not only host, but also join any Guild of their choice upon reaching a certain level inside of the game. It goes without saying that this will be the biggest thing that people invest their time into as a player, with things such as possible raids in the future for up to 16 or even 32 man teams. While many desired features may not be implemented in the future, the game already includes all the basics to keep players interested and dedicated to gaming.
I might not personally join any type of high-ranking guild or otherwise, but I do encourage any readers to give this aspect a try when they can because Dragon and Home has a lot of potential in many areas currently. With that said, I wish you all a well-deserved competitive journey.
With any amazing journey comes the intertwining climax, including a very surprising downside from me this time to end things off. While many may hopefully be curious, Dragon and Home does not currently feature customizable control layouts which is a huge selling point of any RPG title. I am sincerely hoping for this to be an included change once the game is out of Beta, but I will be definitely along for the ride with everyone else as this game pans out into the future.
I would like to take a short moment to thank anyone reading this and that I hope you have an amazing time playing the game. Down below will have any relevant forms and links for those interested further, and don't hesitate to comment since I might be able to help with questions.
