This roguelike action platformer kicks ass! From the randomly generated dungeons to the fast and easy controls, Dungreed keeps you hooked with its easily addicting play loop.
The narrative in Dungreed is simple yet satisfying. A dungeon has devoured a town, and it's your job to save the villagers and rebuild it. A pretty familiar plotline. However, the gameplay in Dungreed is pretty unique and addicting. There are no checkpoints in this game. Every time I died, I lost all my weapons and stats gained in my dungeon run and had to start at the beginning of the dungeon. This is where Dungreed hooked me in.
With each dungeon run, I could save townsfolk, which I could then use to rebuild the village. By rebuilding shops in town, I could gain permanent stat upgrades and weapons I could use for my next dungeon run.
The icing on the cake were the weapons, abilities, and controller support that made Dungreed an excellent play experience. One criticism was dungeon rooms in Dungreed quickly became familiar as I would continuously die and replay until I was powerful enough to make it to the next floor of a dungeon, but all in all, Dungreed is an addicting title that'll keep you saying, "one more run!."
