League of Legends: Wild Rift is continuing its Regional Closed Beta to players in the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand, and adding players from South Korea and Japan on October 8!

We’ll be rolling out to select pre-registered players on Android, and adding waves of players throughout the Closed Beta, so keep an eye on your local Wild Rift social media pages to get the latest updates!

REMIND ME, WHAT’S WILD RIFT?

League of Legends: Wild Rift is the mobile and console version of League, currently in mobile Closed Beta in some regions in Southeast Asia. It’s been built from the ground up for these new platforms, featuring fresh controls and fast-paced games, but still the potential for huge outplays. We announced Wild Rift at last year’s League of Legends 10-year celebration, and have been testing the game across the world for the past 12 months. Now we’re getting ready for primetime, and we’re inviting you to the big stage.

WHAT’S A REGIONAL CLOSED BETA?

Following on from the Regional Alpha earlier this year, we’ll be expanding our range of features and inviting new regions, so we can get feedback from a bunch more players. The Regional Closed Beta is still, well, “closed”, so not everyone will get to help us test this time, but we’re still eager to roll the game out to a lot more players than ever before!

WHAT ARE YOU TESTING?

In the Regional Alpha a few months ago, we were mostly focused on our core gameplay systems; now we want to test a lot more! You can expect to see upgrades to progression, leveling, and balance as we move forward.

HOW DO I GET IN?

We’re going to be randomly selecting from players who have pre-registered for Wild Rift on Google Play! We’ll be inviting more players as the test goes on, so keep an eye on the Play Store. You might also see some content creators invited early on, so even if you don’t get in on early, you can watch some big plays while you’re waiting. Reminder: Once invited, you’ll need to log in with the same Google account you pre-registered with.

IT LOOKS LIKE THE REGIONAL CLOSED BETA HAS BEEN RUNNING FOR A LITTLE WHILE ALREADY IN SOUTHEAST ASIA… WHAT HAVE I MISSED SO FAR?

Firstly, we’re so excited to have you join the fun. If you’d like to catch up on the story so far, check out the /dev diary from last month and have a look around the Wild Rift website! We’ve been posting frequent updates from the team featuring recent topics from the community, a deep dive into Wild Rift’s ranked system, as well as our latest set of patch notes. We’re hoping to continue communicating regularly to keep you updated on our progress.

WHEN DOES THIS REGIONAL CLOSED BETA END?

We’ll have more information on this a bit later, but you can expect the Closed Beta to run for a few weeks.

WHY DID YOU PICK JAPAN AND SOUTH KOREA TO JOIN FIRST?

We’re going region by region for our Closed Beta to make sure we’re prioritizing stability before moving to the next. Most of the regions in this test are geographically fairly close to one another, so we can focus on scale testing a smaller group of servers.

WILL OTHER REGIONS GET A CLOSED BETA?

We’ll be sharing more information about this soon!

We care a lot about bringing the minimum spec down while not compromising on Wild Rift’s core gameplay, so we’ll always be looking to optimize for as many devices as we can.
