Saying that Space Survivor satiated my need to collect and build is an understatement. Not only is this game addictive as hell! But I could build my base, a mech, and fight some aliens! So, naturally, a game that manages to hit all three of my childhood fantasies is worth playing.
Space Survivor has a classic model that had me collecting resources to expand my base and power my mech so that I'm powerful enough to defeat the Zerg, evil alien creatures that threaten humanity. The concept is simple enough, but with all the upgrades and expansions Space Survivor has to offer, it's easy to get addicted quickly.
Then there's the combat system. While in the mech, my job was to blast as many Zerg as possible. Combat was fun, and the different weapon upgrades kept me from getting bored. There's a bit of idle gameplay to Space Survivor as I waited for enough resources to expand my base, but overall the game kept my attention with its simplicity and various ways to use my resources.
