PARANORMASIGHT: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo - A GORGEOUS AND SPOOKY HORROR Visual Novel!

PARANORMASIGHT: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo is a newly released visual novel horror game by Square Enix, and I must say... I'm not usually a fan of Visual Novels... But this one, was really something else. Gameplay wise this game can be played with either a controller or mouse and keyboard, but seem pretty easy to control, so it's up to you what you would prefer.

The game is basically a detective style horror game, where you must look around your surroundings. Interact with them, and also interact with your own thoughts and recollections. Same with interacting with people as well. You can find out a lot of information about them by just asking the right questions. You will know when you have exhausted that interaction option when a tick is placed on it.

You can move around to explore the surroundings by either using the joystick, or holding down the left mouse button and moving the curser around, which will move the visuals around you. Sadly this game has no voice acting, I think this could have done with some premium Japanese voice acting because some of the raw emotions this game has is really intense, and it just feels a bit lost with just silent characters.

I know I'm probably in the minority for that, but I do love me some good voice acting. I mean this is Square Enix, not an indie developer. But regardless of that minor complaint, the game is fantastic, and the plot is really dark and interesting. I don't want to give away too much so I'll just say that early on in the game while investigating paramormal situations with your new friend Yoko, a tragedy happens and you gain access to a curse.

A curse that will let you kill those you choose if they walk away from you. And you can use the soul energy you gain from killing them to bring back someone you care about to life. So that is basically all explained in the first hour of the game so it's not a spoiler. It's the driving force of the story. I really love the plot of this game, it's totally up my alley and I will love to keep playing it. VIsually I think the game looks gorgeous too.

I love the clean and crisp hand drawn style artwork, and the character facial animations are really good. And the jump scares are pretty decent too. This really is top tier visuals. Overall I'd say that PARANORMASIGHT: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo is amazing! As someone who isn't too fond of visual novels, this one grabs me enough to make me want to keep playing it. I just wish it had voice acting, but I can still get through it regardless. For 15.99USD this game is well worth it. I highly recommend you grabbing this game now since it's currently on sale until the 24th of March.
