UFO99 shows that simplicity is not always a bad thing. With enough cosmetics and something to drive players to continue playing they will happily do so. I was one of those happy players. While the gameplay is nothing to write home about, the random possibility of encountering a boss in one of the 45 second runs was something that I kept striving for. Unfortunately, it was too random in this regard and I found myself fighting the same boss (which was a little too long compared to the fast paced nature of the rest of the game) over and over. This stopped me in my journey to collect all of the letters to spell UFO99 but it doesn't have to stop you. Also the boss soundtrack is killer check out the associated video to hear a clip of it. Lastly, this game does have achievements for you achievement hunters out there.
