It's Dead by Daylight, but instead of Ghost Face it's an evil ice cream vendor on the loose

If you really enjoy horror games like Dead by Daylight Mobile or Deceit, then Ice Scream United: Multiplayer might be something you’d be interested in. If not, then I suggest skipping this game for now and maybe revisiting it later on when it’s a lot more polished.
Ice Scream United is a multiplayer horror game like Dead by Daylight Mobile where there is one killer trying to murder four survivors. In this game, there are four children trying to escape a large ice cream factory that once held them captive. Controlled by the players themselves, these children must escape the factory by picking up tools and objects to repair an escape van. The problem is that there’s an evil ice cream vendor on the loose, trying to murder the kids before they can even get close.
Players get randomly assigned to different characters, including the killer, at the beginning of the match. After playing for an hour, I’ve only gotten to play the role of the children. Even though I joined and left multiple matches, I still didn’t get to be the murderer which felt a little disappointing.
I also had a rough time understanding how to play Ice Scream United. Despite playing games like Dead by Daylight Mobile in the past, I struggled a lot when learning the fundamentals of Ice Scream United. The game doesn’t really have a tutorial. Instead, it has a practice mode where I needed to learn the ropes myself by exploring the game. I probably spent around forty minutes trying to figure out the game, which felt a little frustrating. I really wished there was a more comprehensive way of learning how to play.
Besides the lack of a tutorial, Ice Scream United looks and feels unpolished. A lot of visuals are blurry or unpolished and sometimes certain objects don’t render properly in-game. The movement feels jagged and clunky. Sometimes I even had a hard time loading into games and faced some lagging. But these issues don’t compare to the frustration that came with the number of ads I was forced to watch. Whether it was before a game or after, I was forced into watching ads—some shorter than ten seconds while others lasting thirty or more.
That said, the game does get better with time. If you can get over all the issues and can spend a decent amount of time learning the game, it can be pretty fun. After getting the hang of things, I started to enjoy Ice Scream United more. Although Ice Scream United is nowhere near perfect or the likes of Deceit, it’s still a semi-decent multiplayer horror game that former Dead by Daylight Mobile players like me would enjoy playing. However, I do recommend revisiting it in the future when it’s hopefully a lot more polished.
