Fake Future Devlog | How Fake Future's pixelated art came to life
Greetings, I’m the producer of Fake Future,call me Johnson (well actually that’s a nickname everyone loves to greet me with, so I go by with it. I’m a daddy and producer irl)... Just two days before I finished a small update，a quick thought swooshed by, “I haven’t been sharing thoughts with my players for a while”. So, I guess it’s time to seize the chance. Let’s start with... the origin of our unique art style – pixel art. (P.S. Maybe I’ll arrange topics to be centered around for later discussions like this). To tell you the truth, when I first became an indie game producer, I was actually not quite “independent” in all fields -that was to say, I didn’t know how to code, draw, nor did I have the skill tomanage a project... back then, I was obsessed with innovation and gameplaydesigns. Looking at the immature products in retrospect, I’d say I had gone allout, to say the least... If you are not yet ready to give it a shot, please don’t.
Later, I bumped into a portfolio of pixelated designs while surfing on the internet. It was made of movie posters recreated with pixelated art, Star Wars, Blade Runner, to name afew. I made up my mind on spot that I had to find this capable illustrator behind the scene and convince him to join Fake Future! All the work has paid off eventually!! He gave green pass to our proposal after month-long contact. His artworks were thus presented in full details on Fake Future– characters, architectures, not to mention many other landscape illustrations.
And sorry for holding this illustrator's name so long – He is Gustavo, now the head artist of Fake Future! Chances are that you might have known him before I did lol!
