Meta World: My City – A Virtual Cash Grab? Unraveling the Pros and Cons

Translate
Meta World: My City is a metaverse board game from Netmarble that features virtual real estate and building investment. You can build, buy and sell property lots and grow as an investor. Is it good though? Lets find out.
PROS
1. Innovative gameplay
The main idea of Meta World: My City is that you are developing your own real estate portfolio, buy and sell plots, houses and such. It feels fresh and interesting.
2. Fun monopoly game mode
Meta World: My City's active gameplay is limited in competitive 1v1 monopoly game, where you will compete with another player (or bot) for the prizes. Its also interesting that entering this competition costs gold, so its like you are betting your money, which makes it more involving.
CONS
1. Main game features are P2W
As a F2P character you can only earn gold, some summon tickets and a bit of diamonds now and then. In order to buy and sell real estate lots you will need to buy special currency. The exchange rate is atrocious, about 15 usd per 1000 crystals, and you need AT LEAST 2000 crystals to get 1% chance for worst property out there.
2. Long loading times
Any menu you will click will take some time to load in Meta World: My City. it takes anywhere from 0.5 seconds to 10 seconds to load, so you will spend a lot of time in loading screens while navigating the menus.
3. Gold passive income is low
You have your own private f2p area in Meta World: My City where you can buy land and buildings using gold. Your property there will generate gold income at a rate of 0.3% of your property value per day. So in order to get invested money back you will need to wait for the entire year.
Conclusion. Is Meta World: My City Good?
No!
Meta World: My City is a pure money-grab p2w project that have almost no actual gameplay. Game modes are barely connected with each other, your gold income from f2p island is low, no point doing anything there, real estate area have no connection to other game modes and almost impossible to reach for f2p players. And you should expect to invest at least 100 USD for owning a property, that serves no purpose at all. This is not NFT, or virtual asset, this is just a mobile game. Just dont waste your time on it.
