Ogu and the Secret Forest - A Super CUTE and FUNNY Puzzle RPG

I had the pleasure of playing the early access of the game Ogu and the Secret Forest, and I have to say, this is quite the interesting game. .At the beginning of the game I just thought that Ogu and the secret forest was going to be a childish game with a silly story, but it wasn't long before I was taken to another fantasy realm and was claimed the hero of their lands.
And I had to go do taks for them to save their world. I was pretty surprised by how much story was actually in the game, you can talk to pretty much everyone in the game, though there is no voice acting. Surprisingly there was actual combat in this game, however it was very basic. You just swing your bug net at the enemies and eventually they die.
I found it was best to just let the enemies come to you. As they tend to just follow where you go. So if you stay in one place, they will slowly move towards you. When you attack them, you do a pushback effect however, so you can either edge forward slightly and hit them again, or be patient and let them come back to you again.
Considering you can actually die in the game, unless you're playing on easy mode, then you will have to be cautious when attacking enemies, as the combat does feel a bit clunky. One thing to note is that if you leave an area where you killed monsters, and then come back to it, all the monsters will have respawned.
So keep that in mind, you will be doing a lot of fighting because there is also a fair amount of back tracking in this game too. Outside of combat, the gameplay is prety chill for the most part. You can cut down grass and bushes for items to drop, as well as catch bugs.
You can fish in the game, and if you find someone to teach you how to cook, you can cook the fish too. When you reach the village before heading to the temple of the sun, you can learn the monkey dance. The monkey dance will regenerate  half of your hit points, so it can be pretty valuable to learn.
This game isn't all about traveling and combat either. A large part of gaining access to various regions and areas relies on your puzzle skills. As someone who doesn't really enjoy puzzles that much, this was the part I disliked the most.
The puzzles can be tricky and I did get stuck on a few for a while longer than I'd care to say. But you can easily reset the puzzle if you think you messed up and can do it again. Visually the game is super cute looking. With a super cute 2D art style, I absolutely love it.
The in game cinematics are adorable too, and I just love seeing Ogu enjoy his little adventure. This game looks great and I love every detail about it. Overall I'd say that Ogu and the Secret Forest is a fantastic premium purchase game that is definitely worth the buy.
The quality is top notch and while the game may still be in early access, there is a road map planned for the game, and it has a full release plan for 2024. As long as the devs keep up with their promised road map, I think this game will be fantastic. I highly recommend it.
